Ronald Temple – “Investing Against a New Economic Paradigm: A Global Market Outlook”
Ronald Temple is the Chief Market Strategist for Lazard’s Financial Advisory and Asset Management businesses. In this role, Ron provides macroeconomic and market perspectives to Lazard’s investment teams on a firmwide basis and works closely with Lazard’s Geopolitical Advisory group to assess economic and market implications of key geopolitical issues globally. Ron also advises clients of Lazard’s Asset Management businesses regarding macroeconomic and market considerations that are important to achieving their objectives.
Synopsis: The 2023 outlook has brightened with recession risk in Europe and the United States decreasing, and the end of zero-COVID policies returning the Chinese economy to a stronger growth trajectory. However, the risks have not been eliminated. Central banks are walking a tightrope as they seek to tame inflation without tipping economies into recession, corporate profit margins are under pressure, and geopolitical risks show no sign of fading. Investors can be forgiven having a sense of trepidation after the sharp sell-off of 2022, but market volatility can provide attractive investment opportunities for those with a long-term perspective. In this presentation, Ron Temple, Chief Market Strategist for Lazard, will discuss his views on these topics as well as the implications for investors. The presentation will be followed by a question and answer session.
